STATE PRESCHOOL AND SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMS

San Diego Unified School District offers a California State Preschool Program (Part-Day and Extended-Day) for 3 and 4-year old children who qualify. Family income must meet the State income ceiling guideline according to family size in order to qualify.

Families that do not income-qualify for a State-funded Preschool may complete a Google form on July 15, 2025 for a School Readiness Program. These programs are 4 days a week, 3 hours a day. Space is limited. Families that are offered enrollment will be contacted via email to complete registration at the school site when staff returns on Monday, July 28, 2025. School Readiness can be found at the following elementary schools: Balboa, Clairemont Canyons*, Dingeman, Ericson, Jones, Kumeyaay, Miller, Normal Heights Pacific View Leadership, Perkins, Rodriguez, and Rowan Elementary.

*Clairemont Canyons has both a state preschool and a School Readiness classroom.

While it is highly encouraged that children are fully potty-trained to attend preschool, it is not a requirement.
